hi guys!!
This is my first matte sketch, about a month ago i bought Dylan DVD's and there awsome...really recommend to all!! i took one of Dylan's photo reference and made a practise run, this is what i came up with. i really wanted to break away from what Dylan did and to others, so if fans happen to have bought the DVD's and see this image i wanted them to look at it and say "hey that's a totally different image, that's not from Dylan photos" This took me about alomst four weeks, around 45hrs i spent on it, i really wanted to try out matte painting, or matte sketch whatever you guys want to call this image. so tell me what you guys think about this one??should i continue to make more?? For people who don't about Matte Painting, its simple all it is photo manipulation and to be able to get away with it. But you have to have great experience with photos, colours, how the mind reacts certains things. Your trying to get the viewer to look at your piece (backgrounds) and get all the information within seconds, so the viewer knows where they are. Its also for a director who has a tight budget and wants a certain shot, with a dramatic or epic feel, they will hire a matte painter. hmm.. 1st. its either the thumbnail-image or the painting is kinda blurry... add more sharpness in in..
2nd. the pic looks a bit too flat... add more atmosphere in it..
3rd. add more dramatic contrast and colors to it..
